RotaLoo Composting Toilets

Composting toilets work and save you money.

If you live in urban areas where there are deep sewers it is impractical to think of composting toilets but saving water is, replace your showerheads, its cheap and easy. When the washing machine dies buy a water saving front loader.
If you have a business or where you have male and female toilets please consider installing waterless urinals. Without getting into to a sales patter (yes we do sell the best one) They do work ours don't stink and they are easy to install.

Some dish washers use less water than washing by hand !!!!

Rainfall...

The winter of 2005 will be remembered as wet one but the wier did not over flow, close but not quite enough!

The last time Mundaring weir was full was in the winter of 1994. Despite the good rains in 2004 (That's eleven years on!!!) we still have to think 'water saving' and the best way to do that is don't use it in the first place.
Easy to say hard to do...

This photograph will remain on this page until such time as the dam is full again!!

Sanity prevails... Securing our water future

This week Premier Alan Carpenter released an independent expert investigation into transporting water from the Kimberley, 'Options for bringing water to Perth from the Kimberley'.

The report found that the canal option is high risk, the pipeline option is high cost and the ocean transport options are too expensive for what they deliver.

The report also vindicates the Government’s water strategy of developing a diverse range of water options – security through diversity. The State government has in place a managed plan which will ensure no single source is exhausted as we face a drying climate and growing water demands.

Quoted from the Premiers weekly news letter.

An open request to the Minister for Water John Kobelke

How come sensible thinking folk who decide to install composting toilets and waterless urinals are not eligible for a water wise rebate??? After all the largest water consuming appliance in the home is the flush toilet!

Maybe the Minister for water will also consider legislation or even just a paper that encourages environmentally suitable building orientation, community solar power generation and community water harvesting?
